The Lord gave us a powerful word two years ago through scripture, and reminded us of it over the last couple days.
As a family and with those closest to us believe this word is for this season we are entering into today.
Two summers ago I was reading 2 Samuel 6:14-23 it’s the story of King David as he was bringing the Ark of God back up to the City of David with rejoicing. Verse 14
“David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might while he and the entire house of
Israel
brought up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.” David threw off his kingly robe, and danced in his linen ephod… the ephod was clothing that only the priests wore. David was saying to the whole nation of Israel that before the Lord, on this day, I am a priest. No need to bow to me as a king, a prophet, or the ruler of this nation; I enter with the presence of God in humility and as servant of the one and only King, and I am a priest.
This word exploded in our spirits, He said, “ Gary you are a priest and that is enough”!
He then took me to Haggai 1:3-15 the prophet Haggai brings the word of the Lord;
“Is it time for you yourselves to be living in your panel (Stucco) house, while this house remains a ruin? You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it. Give careful thought to your ways. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build a house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord. You expected much, you see, but it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why? Declares the Lord almighty. Because of my house, which remains in ruin, while each of you is busy with his own house.” So, Joshua, the high priest, and the “Whole Remnant” of the people obeyed the voice of the Lord.
The Lord was simply saying that we, the BlackTribe, were not put on planet earth to build our own house. Lisa, the kids and I are called to the next generation, the orphan; we are called to build up the house for the “Fatherless”. I am called as a priest that will “Hear the voice of the Lord” and help rebuild His house. This is very interesting now that we are moving to a timber production village in the mountains of Africa and the word is to
“Go up to the mountains and bring down timber and build the house”. Can give you chills if you’re not careful!
God told Joshua, you have the word of the Lord and the anointing, that’s all you need, now go take the land!
What has God called you to and who are you? If He said it, go take it, the world is waiting…
