The Paper Tiger
Zoologists tell us that a tiger will defeat a lion in battle; but five lions will defeat five tigers because the lions fight together and the tigers do not, so the five lions take on one tiger at a time…
Did you know that the devil has had all his weapons taken away and his kingdom is divided? In Luke 11, Jesus implies that hell is divided. It actually is! Remember in the book of Daniel and when the prince of Persai and the prince of Greece went at it?
Jesus descended into hell and disarmed it! Hell, death, principalities, powers, (Colossians 2) “Takes away the armor” (Luke 11:22) that word armor is twice in the New testament here and in Eph 6. It means all the weapons, everything, and as Andrew Shearman would say it the “Whole panoplia”!
The phrase “Spoils” the enemy in Luke 11 means to get the enemies weapons and give them to your own men. This means that we have all the weapons of the Lord (Eph 6) and all the weapons that hell claimed – hell is bankrupt and only has “words” 2Cor 10:2-6, arguments, pretensions, imaginations; strongholds made of only words… you have all the weapons; SHUT HIM UP! What ever he attacks you with is just a reminder that he has a pretend weapon, you have the real one. Use it, destroy fear with fear, “We have not been given a Spirit of fear” Demolish his arguments today and make them obey Christ and punish him (2Cor 10)
Have you heard the phrase “the devil is a paper tiger”? The devil only has words and you have five lions on your side today defeating the one “paper tiger” that attacks you.
