This is from my daughter Alexis; it has been a very hard season of life this past year, but… our God has been faithful; all of our kids blessed us today on our 9th anniversary, but this was particularly special.

Inverted Pyramid Tales
Everything was set. Wedding Cake and decorations streaming white all around the Castle. I put on my small ivory dress, delicately beaded. I look in the mirror, my hair is elegantly twisted into a bun and a small tiara sits on my head. Every girl dreams of their wedding day; the white lace, ribbons, and dresses lure us in and cause us to fantasize on the far-off future. My mother was a widow, with two small girls. After five years of being alone she was marrying the man of all of our dreams. Gary Black was tall, handsome, and a perfect gentleman. He was the exact man to father me and my sister. I loved my daddy, but November 4, 2000 i fell in love with another man. When my mom said her ‘I do’s’ that day, we were protected, loved, and fathered. I was that day i realized that i would only love one more man after this. I walked down the aisle, dressed head to toe in white just like a princess; I was the flower girl and i married into a family. Next time i walk down the aisle i will be madly in love again; dressed in white, like a princess. I will be the bride and i will marry a man that holds the same same morals, protection, and love that my dad has provided to our family. November 4, 2009, my parents have been married for almost a decade today, and i can’t wait to have what they have. |
