Nothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything.
It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you will do with your evening, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.
Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J.
Last week I spent three days on the side of a mountain.
No distractions, no interruptions, and no excuses. Just me, my bottled water, and the God that made the Universe… solitude is an interesting and scary thing. Alone with your thoughts, not trying to manufacture anything, desperately wanting to hear from your Maker, that things in your life, and your very being….. are alright.
As I was standing on the edge of a cliff, looking over a vast canyon that seemed to go on for miles and miles, I asked God “why”?! Why, with everything going on in Israel, people dying, children starving, great men and women of God actually changing the world, “why do you care about this little man, standing on a rock in the middle of nowhere, why do you care about me”?
“I created these rocks, this canyon, and the trees, the hawk souring by, this breath- taking painted picture, just for you. Before time I knew you and I would be here, looking, questioning, and I couldn’t wait to show you what I made for you, Gary Black, my son”.
Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.
thats good… we all need to go to our cell
