Vision Swaziland October 2009

Encounter, Experience, Engage

As a participant on a Vision Trip, you’ll have the opportunity to love and care for orphans and minister to their caregivers.  You’ll see firsthand the Nsoko Project where we are establishing a Community Center, a medical clinic, a church, and a feeding program for orphans.  Our vision for bringing light and hope to the nation of Swaziland is coming to fruition; we have almost completed the first phase of our project and look forward to helping the community find ways to be self-sustainable.

:: Your Donations ::
One of the biggest needs for a pastor in a place like Swaziland is reliable transportation.  And thanks to a generous donor, Pastor Gift now has a vehicle!  Because of this, Pastor Gift now has a more effective and efficient way to travel around and do ministry.  Thanks again!

:: Nsoko News ::

There is a Real Life Team of 19 that arrived on the 6th of June, they are here until the 27th of July. There are visiting care points, doing home visitation to pray and encourage the people in the community. They are visiting a prison, hospitals, and churches around Nsoko, and making blocks to build homes.

We are expecting 15 adults from June 27th until the 4th of July. They will be building a chicken coop and a care point store room, and running a VBS program for children, and an overnight children’s camp. Several nurses are coming with this team to run the clinic.

:: Nsoko Stories ::

Dudu has a rare strain of TB that is treatable only with shots, that are administered once a day for 6 months. We are praying that she will be able to go to the hospital in Durban for the treatments. Her strain of TB is highly contagious and she should be in isolation from others. Unfortunately she is sharing a room with her 10 month old son and we are not sure if he has the same strain of TB or not. Also her family is exposed to her daily because she is living in a room right off the kitchen. Sadly they don’t seem to understand the need for her to be separated from them and so they are putting themselves at risk, despite warnings from a local nurse and from Pastor Gift.

The soccer and net ball games are a big hit, there is a team of 28 people that come out a on regular basis. This is a great opportunity for Pastor Gift to build into these young men’s and women’s lives.  Here is a picture of the games.

  1. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for everything you are doing and for the ways you are allowing God to move through you in Swaziland. I can’t wait to see God’s complete healing of that place! I miss seeing you and Lisa every month or so and continue to pray for your family and health.
