There are currently three squads out on the World Race, all with different itineraries, all racing around the world on an unparalleled adventure. Here is a snapshot at what the last month of ministry has been like for each squad (read the full reports by clicking here):

C-Squad - June 07 (Philippines to Nicaragua)

Despite set-up challenges at the onset of the June 07 team's entry into the Philippines, God's provision and blessing ended up providing the best month to date for this squad. The squad spent the month of January serving just outside of Manila with a ministry reaching out to the poor and marginalized. Manila is home to tens of thousands of homeless, sick, orphaned and widowed. The Filipino people are strong, friendly and resilient but suffering nonetheless. It was a month of fulfilling ministry for the squad. They left with tearful farewells to their Filipino friends to embark on the last season of their journey: Latin America.

D-Squad - September 07 (China to southern Africa)

The September Squad ended their long, four-month journey through Asia by visiting the most populous country on the planet: China. As the country is averse to outright evangelism and mission efforts, the partners with which they served have asked to remain anonymous. The communist government is primarily atheistic, and most government-approved Chinese churches are passive in their outreach. This Squad spent their month serving youth and young adults, befriending them, loving them and sharing of the hope of Christ with them. At the conclusion of their Chinese excursion, the Squad said "goodbye" to Asia and headed to southern Africa. The teams have dispersed into South Africa and Mozambique to learn a new culture, meet new needs and continue spreading the love of God around the world.

January 08 (Peru to the Amazon)

The January team launched nearly four weeks ago into the earthquake zone of Chincha, Peru. The sights of an entire town being affected by this natural disaster were sobering and horrific. It was a reality check like no other for the squad to see both the suffering and resilience of the displaced people. It has been a month of meeting needs wherever possible, from rebuilding homes to planting gardens. The Holy Spirit has been present to awaken the Peruvian people to the love and hope of Christ, and the squad has seen individuals transformed by Christ. In less than a week, the squad will head to a much different venue in the remote Peruvian jungle of Iquitos and surrounding villages. They will say goodbye to their newfound friends in the first of many transitions, but never forget the start of this amazing journey.
