My friend Andrew Shearman has taught me many things; most
have changed my life, but one of the most profound, simple and freeing
statements and basic ways to live a “Kingdom” life is this: “The Kingdom of God is not about right and wrong, it’s
about life and death.”

As I train hundreds of young missionaries, speak at events
and preach at churches, I always make sure to start with this principle; it’s
amazing to watch the people’s faces at first and then watch freedom come as
they gain understanding of their “sonship” and how they can live in freedom,
not bondage, as a Christian.

It’s not about rules; it’s not about what I did right today
or wrong, but rather did I bring life or death? Did my family feel alive today
with the way I handled and stewarded our lives?

Did the people I touched today
feel life from me, or did I protect myself: was I selfish and not give myself
to serve them?

Adam and Eve had the Tree of Life and the Tree of the
Knowledge of Good and Evil; they could have chosen Life and saved us all, but
instead they chose right and wrong.

And now, we all have to make that decision
every day! Our responsibility is to chose Life everyday and in every situation,
and lead others to do the same.

Are you finding life in your walk with God today, or is it
about “right” and “wrong” – how well or how bad you tried to do it? When you
find the freedom of bringing life to every situation, you find the freedom that
Jesus wants you to have as a son or daughter.

Remember: I am God’s favorite.
I feel sorry for the rest of you, but I feel fully alive today!
