All adherents to Islam, all believe that they are spiritual
descendants to Ishmael.
Ishmael had strong ties to Africa
because of his mother, Hagar, and his wife. Both his mother and wife were
Egyptian, which is in northern Africa. Religion has penetrated the deep part of Africa.
A stronghold of Islam is staggering in Africa.
This is how it started, and how it's coming down.
The political conflicts in the Middle East and Africa are Biblical. In Genesis 25, we see Ishmael's insecurity, that no matter
who he was, he focused on who he was not. God was with him, but he was
obsessed that he was not the beloved Isaac.
In Genesis 17:18-21, Abraham asked
God to give Ishmael the blessing, God heard Abraham's cry and said that He
would surely bless him, make him into a great nation, make him fruitful, and increase his numbers.
There is a lesson we can learn from Ishmael - that no
matter how blessed we've been, our natural tendency is to want the blessing we
do not have. We get so caught up in wanting somebody else's blessing, that we
don't even realize our own. We stop doing what we were created / called to do.
Ishmael was jealous. There is a spirit of jealousy all over his descendants and all over
Islam. The followers of Islam have no feeling of earthly security or of eternal
security. Muhammad didn't even know where he was going when he died, only Allah
knew.
1 John 5:13 clearly says that we can know. In 2 Timothy 1:12 says that we know because we know Him. We can have security in Christ. We need to know God's word to be assured of that security.
God does not make Himself
hard to find. It's all about belief, and trust; it's not important that you use
the exact words or if you "feel" saved or not.
The only one with eternal security in Islam is a martyr. This means that if
you want to ensure that you are going to heaven, then you must give your life for the religion. That is the only way to know that you will make it into heaven and that your family will be taken care of after your death.
For a Christian, there is inherent dignity. We have been given dignity by Christ. It wasn't that we were worth dying for, but the fact that he decided to die for us that gave us worth.
There is no dignity for women in Islam. According to Dr.
Ergun Caner, the entire Islamic religion is based on making Ishmael the
inheritor of the promise. 2200 years
after the events of Mount
Moriah, Mohammed changed
the character in the historical scene from Isaac to Ishmael.
To Muslims, Ishmael was on Mount Moriah.
If Isaac was the one who got all the blessing and the land, this makes all the
fighting make sense:
I am the inherited, I am the one who owns the land, it
belongs to me.
Please pray for Muslims in Africa.
