We just returned home from an incredible week and encounter in Kansas City… some of our very good friends and ministry partners,
Tim and Janet Johns, Rock Tribe International
http://www.rocktribe.org/index.html
invited Lisa and I to their inner-city “Tribal Gathering” and it was an absolute blow away! Tim shared his passion and life that is based all around “Apostolic Family” an international movement of people from every tribe, tongue, color and nation walking in true covenant with one another and pulling the “Nutrients of Heaven” that each of us have to serve the poor, orphans and each other; each one of us desperately need a family, not a denomination. We need equally committed people around us, building lives and the kingdom together, and in doing so, we touch on the gold inside us that only can be revealed by “doing life together”. Before titles, a ministry name, economics, we need to have and impart family, at the end of the day, it’s all that matters. They are “spiritual mom and dad” to hundreds of inner-city kids, orphans and leaders around the world.
They introduced us to Rolland and Heidi Baker. The Bakers have been missionaries for over 25 years and Rolland is a third-generation missionary that grew up in Asia under is grandfathers “Supernatural” orphan ministry. They are in Mozambique now and have raised over 67 orphans and people from the dead and have reached thousands of Muslims with the gospel. Heidi shared one common story, “when we begin to preach in many of the areas of Africa, the Muslims and others throw large rocks, sand, and other objects and before we get killed, we yell out for some one to bring us a deaf person! As soon as one reaches the stage, while we are getting hit and dodging rocks, we pray for their hearing to be restored, it happens every time, and as soon as they can hear, the rocks stop being hurled at our head and we can preach!” A little different then preaching in the US!
If you want to be changed, go to their website read at least Rolland’s grandfather’s “Visions Beyond the Veil,” and Heidi’s “There is Always Enough.” These will show you something about their background and help prepare you for the situation today in Africa.

I agree dear, the John’s and The Bakers are living it, and doing the stuff….
I can not express how relieved I was that these people are living SUPERNATURALLY and by faith, however they are FULL OF JOY, real joy, not the fake stuff, the peace that passes understanding…
they understand and live by family and community…they are not proserity driven in the world but in the spirit, and they do not worship a poverty mentality…..PRAISE GOD!!!
thank you for showing us a model that works, because it is the very heart of the Father, and word of God!!
so does that mean you talked to the baker’s about allowing the WRers to learn from them for a month in Mozambique?
That is a great idea, Talia, I will do that!!!
Sounds like an awesome idea…
