From yesterday's blog...

One of our little girls is a playful little eight year old girl from Nsoko, Swaziland. Her mother died of an AIDS related sickness at an unknown time. Her father is living and still around. She comes to the care point each day for a meal and to be taught. She also has two older sisters that don't come to the care point for help right now. She is in a vulnerable place because even though she has a father, he is very negligent. He's not always around and it's her 14 year old sister that takes care of her most of the time.

In a situation where there is a father and only daughters, it is not uncommon that there is sexual and physical abuse happening. Along with that comes of course the psychological and emotional damage that could mess up her whole life. G42/AIM wants to get her out of the current situation that she is in and eventually adopt her and bring her into the Children's Village to be cared for properly. There she will safe from abuse, eat on a regular basis, and she will have an adult caretaker. Her HIV status is unknown because she had never been tested for AIDS.
